TD is second longest acting form of testosterone after Testosterone Undecanoate. As with any other form of testosterone, the only difference between them is in the half life (the release time of the hormone after it got administered).

Testosterone binds to the androgen receptor (AR), and the ligand-receptor complex translocates to the nucleus and binds to androgen response elements (AREs) on chromosomal DNA, thereby modulating transcription of a set of androgen-responsive genes. Testcan also be converted to estrogen and has a similar regulatory action on genes containing estrogen response elements (EREs).
