Enobosarm, also formerly known as ostarine and by the developmental code names GTx-024, MK-2866, and S-22, is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) which is under development for the treatment of androgen receptor-positive breast cancer in women and for improvement of body composition (e.g., prevention of muscle loss) in people taking GLP-1 receptor agonists like semaglutide. It was also under development for a variety of other indications, including treatment of cachexia, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, muscle atrophy or sarcopenia, and stress urinary incontinence, but development for all other uses has been discontinued. Enobosarm was evaluated for the treatment of muscle wasting related to cancer in late-stage clinical trials, and the drug improved lean body mass in these trials, but it was not effective in improving muscle strength. As a result, enobosarm was not approved and development for this use was terminated. Enobosarm powder is taken by mouth.

Uses

(2S)-3-(4-Cyanophenoxy-2,3,5,6-d4)-N-[4-cyano-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanamide is a metabolites of selective androgen receptor modulators (SARM).
Application Ostarine is a non-steroidal agent with anabolic activity. Selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) GTx-024 is designed to work like testosterone, thus promoting and/or maintaining libido, fertility, prostate growth, and muscle growth and strength. Mimicking testosterone’s action, this agent may increase lean body mass, thereby ameliorating muscle wasting in the hypermetabolic state of cancer cachexia.
Ostarine has been used in trials studying the treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence and Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

Uses Ostarine is nonsteroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) used in the treatment of osteoporosis and muscle wasting in animal models. A potential compound for the treatment of hypoactive sexual desire disorder.
Origin Ostarine is an orally bioavailable, nonsteroidal SARM that was developed by Gtx, Inc. in the late 1990s primarily for the treatment of muscle wasting and osteoporosis.

Enobosarm Side effects

Common low-grade side effects included headache, nausea, fatigue, and back pain. Other observed effects were transient elevation in the alanine transaminase (ALT). Reductions in high density lipoprotein (HDL), blood glucose, insulin, and insulin resistance. The side effects of decreased testosterone include reduced sex drive, infertility, muscle weakness, loss of bone density, weight gain accompanied by increased body fat, insomnia, and depression.
