Mazdutide is a novel peptide drug that belongs to the class of GLP-1 (glucose-dependent insulin secretory polypeptide) receptor agonists. These drugs regulate blood glucose levels and body weight by mimicking the action of natural GLP-1, and are one of the most important drugs in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity.Mazdutide works through multiple mechanisms, including boosting insulin secretion, decreasing gastric emptying, enhancing satiety, and suppressing appetite, thus effectively controlling blood glucose levels and helping to reduce body weight.

Mazdutide Benefits

Mazdutide achieves multiple physiological effects through the activation of GLP-1 receptor and GCGR:

Weight loss: activation of GLP-1 receptor suppresses appetite and reduces food intake.

Elimination of fatty liver effects: Activation of GCGR promotes hepatic lipolysis and enhances energy expenditure, thus improving fatty liver problems.

Improve cardiometabolic risk: Studies have shown that Mazdutide not only reduces weight and eliminates fatty liver, but also significantly reduces cardiometabolic risk.

Mazdutide Dosage Study

All subjects were randomly assigned to 4 groups and treated with different doses of Mazdutide (3 mg, 4.5 mg, 6 mg) or placebo by subcutaneous injection once a week for 24 weeks. After 24 weeks of treatment, all dose groups of Mazdutide resulted in significant weight loss compared with placebo. From baseline to Week 24, subjects in the 3 mg, 4.5 mg, and 6 mg treatment groups lost 6.7% (6.4 kg), 10.4% (9.1 kg), and 11.3% (9.9 kg) of their body weight, which was 7.7% (7.5 kg), 11.4% (10.2 kg), and 12.3% (11.1 kg) more than that of the placebo group, respectively. Furthermore, the proportion of subjects with ≥5.0% and ≥10.0% reduction in body weight from baseline was significantly higher in each dose group than in the placebo group.Mazdutide also significantly reduced cardiovascular metabolic markers such as waist circumference, blood pressure, blood lipids, transaminases, and blood uric acid levels in both overweight and obese subjects.

Mazdutide Side Effects

Mazdutide was generally well tolerated and safe, with common adverse events including diarrhea, nausea, and upper respiratory tract infections. During the study period, there were no serious adverse events associated with Mazdutide and no adverse events leading to permanent discontinuation of the study drug in the Mazdutide group.
